A school subscription, order form or signed agreement may contain additional commercial and data-processing terms. If those terms conflict with this public document, the signed agreement controls for that school.
Acceptance and eligibility
By creating an account, accepting an invitation or using FobsSMS, you agree to these terms. You must have legal capacity to agree, or act with the authorization of the organization or guardian you represent. The service is not offered directly to students as independent account holders.
Accounts and authorized access
Keep credentials confidential, provide accurate information and promptly report suspected misuse. Each person must use their own account. A school administrator is responsible for assigning appropriate roles, removing access when duties change and ensuring that users are authorized to see school records.
School responsibilities
Schools are responsible for the legality, quality and accuracy of uploaded records; notices and permissions required for student, staff and family data; decisions made from the platform; and keeping offline or statutory records where required. FobsSMS assists school operations but does not replace school leadership, professional judgment or regulatory duties.
Permitted and prohibited use
You may use the service for legitimate educational administration and communication within your authorized role. You may not:
- Access another person’s account, school or records without authorization.
- Upload unlawful, harmful, deceptive, infringing or malicious material.
- Circumvent security, probe vulnerabilities, disrupt the service or introduce malware.
- Scrape, resell, reverse engineer or copy the service except where mandatory law permits it.
- Use automated or artificial-intelligence outputs as the sole basis for a high-impact decision about a person.
Subscriptions, fees and changes
Paid features, limits, billing periods, taxes, renewals and implementation services are described in the applicable offer or agreement. Published pricing may change prospectively. We may improve, replace or retire features, while taking reasonable steps to avoid materially disrupting paid commitments.
Content and intellectual property
You retain rights in content you lawfully submit and grant FOBS the limited permission needed to host, process, transmit, back up and display it to authorized users. FOBS and its licensors retain rights in the platform, branding, software, documentation and designs. Feedback may be used to improve the service without identifying confidential school information.
Availability, suspension and termination
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, connectivity, third-party systems, emergencies or security work may affect access. We may restrict or suspend access to protect users, respond to unlawful use, enforce these terms or address unpaid amounts. Contractual export and deletion arrangements apply when a school service ends.
Responsibility, disputes and contact
Each party remains responsible for losses caused by its breach, negligence or unlawful conduct, subject to mandatory law and any signed agreement. Nothing excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Parties should first try to resolve concerns in good faith by contacting FOBS in Yaoundé, Cameroon; the applicable agreement and mandatory law determine jurisdiction and remedies.
